Former culture minister Lord Vaizey says “people around the world will applaud” the Horniman Museum’s decision to sign ownership of the Benin Bronzes to Nigeria.
The artefacts were looted from the Royal Court of Benin in 1897, and Lord Vaizey describes the south London museum’s return of the objects as, “righting a wrong”.
