Mother accuses police of excessive force against black sons

A mother has accused the police of using excessive force against her sons because of the colour of their skin.

On Monday, Sabreena's two sons, 13 and 15-years-old respectively, were stopped by rail staff at Shortlands station on their way to school, after the youngest did not have his Oyster card with him.

Footage then circulated on social media of the 15-year-old "with eight hands on him", arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon, which his mother says was a rock to bring to his geography class.

Sabreena adds her youngest, who was arrested for fare evasion before being de-arrested and issued with a penalty fare, now "can't go to school" because of the trauma from the incident and that they'll both "have to carry this for the rest of their life".
