Single-use plastics are to be banned in England by the end of this year.
This includes cutlery, plates and food packaging from a restaurant, cafe or takeaway but not plastic packaging from supermarkets such as plates, bowls or trays.
Environment Secretary Thérèse Coffey will announce the new move, which aims to cut down on single use plastics polluting the countryside and harming wildlife.
