Over 2,000 years ago God the Father sent His Only Begotten (John 3:16) virgin born Son (Isaiah 7:14) The Lord Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the world (1John 4:9).
All human beings are sinners because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and sin is the reason why death is in the world (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12) The Lord Jesus is fully God and fully man (1Timothy 3:16) yet without sin, He did no sin (1Peter 2:22) He knew no sin (2Corinthians 5:21) and in Him is no sin (1John 3:5) which makes the Lord Jesus the only One qualified in creation to die for the sins of the world (Acts 4:12; Isaiah 42:21) This means religious duties, church going and good works and deeds will not save you (Titus 3:5) living a decent moral ethical life will not save you (Ephesians 2:8) Water baptism, Lord's supper or other codes of conduct will not save you (1Corinthians 1:17) The Bible says specifically and exclusively that in order to be saved from your sins you must believe that Christ died for your sins and rose again the third day for the salvation of your soul (1Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 10:9) and at that moment you will be given the Holy Spirit immediately upon your faith and trust in the finished cross work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14) this changes the nature of your soul (2Corinthians 5:17) not the nature of your spirit and your flesh (Romans 6:19).
