Shadow Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds has called for Nadhim Zahawi to be sacked from government over a tax dispute with HMRC that led to the former chancellor paying a penalty.
The Labour frontbencher said: "I think he should already have been removed from his position … it is simply untenable to have been a chancellor of the exchequer, responsible for the tax system, and not have paid the correct amount." Report by Buseld.
