The Bills were founded in 1960 as the Bisons, and played in the American Football League (AFL) from 1960 to 1970.
The team joined the National Football League (NFL) in 1970.
The Bills played their first game in 1970 at Ralph Wilson Stadium against the New York Jets, and their last game in 1993 at Rich Stadium against the Los Angeles Raiders.
The Bills have appeared in five AFL and four NFL Championship Games, but have never won an NFL championship.
