However, the water level at Lake Mead was holding on about 3 feet above projected levels as of April 3.

The Hill reports that Lake Mead's water level rose at the beginning of the year, followed by a minor dip.

Recent rain in the area has contributed to stabilizing water levels before rising nearly half a foot to end March.

The opening days of April have seen water levels once again drop by about half a foot.

Meanwhile, Lake Powell has recovered after dropping to an all-time low in March, rising over a foot since hitting that grim milestone.

The Hill reports that the Bureau of Reclamation is expected to allow Lake Powell to benefit from melting snowpack in Colorado.
