Google TV Adds , Over 800 Free Channels.
Engadget reports that Google TV is taking on Roku with the addition of more Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels.
Google made the announcement on April 11.
Starting today, we’re integrating access to free channels from Tubi, Plex and Haystack News directly into the Live tab, alongside the existing lineup of channels from Pluto TV, Google, via blog.
We’re also launching free built-in channels from Google TV that you can watch without even downloading or launching an app, Google, via blog.
In total, you can now browse over 800 channels and premium programming, including news channels from NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX, Google, via blog.
Users will also be able to access channels from around the globe, with programming in over 10 languages.
Additionally, if you subscribe to YouTube TV or Sling TV, the Google TV Live tab will host all of your live TV content in one place.
Google's new live TV offering will first be made available on Google TV devices and "TVs with Google TV built-in from Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips.".
Android TV devices will have access to the feature later this year
