Neolithic farmers borrowed genes from hunter gatherer populations to gain disease immunity

New research by the Francis Crick Institute has revealed that diversity in genes that code for immunity - and came from Mesolithic hunter-gatherers - may have allowed adaptation to farming lifestyles in the Neolithic.
