The India Meteorological Department mentioned that states like Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to witness heat waves.
On Monday, Delhi too recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 25.2 degrees Celsius.
The IMD said that the national capital is likely to see some relief from the oppressive heat as light rain or thundershowers are predicted for two days, beginning Tuesday.
