When Lee FINALLY got to meet Nina Simone, she picked up the nearest magazine and tuned out Lee and all of his entourage that accompanied Lee from his LEGENDARY Detroit record store.
In this experience of being slighted, Lee was not turned away for capitalizing on a chance encounter with the FRESH-faced but ROTTEN-prone Nina Simone, for this meeting was a press party pre-arranged and held exclusively in her honor at the private home of a local well-to-do music businessman in Detroit.
Nina sat in a chair with her legs crossed and pulled up and read her magazine that clearly served more as concealment rather than as an information source.
Lee admits he fell in with her in time, which one can assume is the balance of her Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde sides evening her impression out in Lee's heart and mind.
