Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer has taken Rishi Sunak to task over his move to approve Boris Johnson’s resignation honours list, saying peerages “should be for public service not Tory cronies”.
While the prime minister insisted he had simply followed precedent, the Opposition leader countered: “He was too weak to block Johnson's list, and that also means that those who spent their time helping cover up Johnson's lawbreaking are rewarded by becoming lawmakers for the rest of their lives."
