The newly-knighted Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg has defended his acceptance of the honour handed to him by Boris Johnson.
The Tory MP denied feeling “grubby” accepting the gong in light of the former prime minister being found to have misled Parliament and when asked by Channel 4 News whether he would be minded to hand it back, he responded: “That would be very rude to His Majesty." Report by Buseld.
