John Byrnes is the deputy director for Concerned Veterans for America and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Army National Guard.
A New York native, John joined the Marine Corps in 1991 after high school.
He served four years and deployed to Somalia in 1993.
After leaving the Marine Corps, John joined the New York National Guard where he continued his service until retirement in 2018.
John was in New York City on September 11th and served at ground zero for the first two weeks after the attacks.
He subsequently deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
