In Great Britain, smoking cessation clinics, Public Health England and even their National Health Services promote vaping as a way to quit smoking; they even allow vaping on hospital grounds.
Their health education campaigns repeat the slogan “Vaping is less than 5% the risk of smoking” on advertisements at bus stops and other public areas.(1) Being that vaping is actively promoted to smokers in Great Britain, do you think that would cause higher rates of youth vaping?
The truth is, in Britain, the percentage of youth that have never tried vaping is 83%.(2) In the United States, the percentage of youth that have never tried vaping is 80%.(3) Rates of youth vaping between the two countries are virtually the same.
