The company made the announcement on July 12.
Unfortunately, today's economic pressures have made the business no longer sustainable, and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to cease operations, Anchor Brewing, via statement.
Anchor was acquired by Sapporo in 2017.
An anonymous employee claims that "upper management ran this company not understanding how craft brewing works in America.".
Sapporo has made rookie mistakes left and right, they have destroyed what this brand was, Anonymous employee, via Insider.
With the exception of 2021, production declined each year since 2017.
Over the past year, Sapporo has unsuccessfully attempted to sell the brewing company.
According to Anchor, it is "possible that a buyer will step forward for the brewery as part of the liquidation process.".
Currently, the brewery is no longer producing beer.
Its stock will be phased out by the end of July.
