An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Saturday.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said that the earthquake hit at around 12:53 am.
The agency said that the epicentre of the earthquake was 126 km southeast (SE) of Port Blair.
However, GFZ or the German Research Centre for Geosciences reported that the quake was at a depth of 10 km.
The earthquake occurred at 12.53 am.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the quake had a depth of 69 km and occurred at 10.75 latitude and 93.47 longitude.
It noted that the magnitude of the quake was recorded at 6.0 on the Richter scale.
