US President Joe Biden says that he does not want to “contain” China at a press conference in Hanoi during a visit to Vietnam.
Washington and Beijing have been facing deepening divisions on a range of global issues including trade, security and rights.
Biden met Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the G20 summit in New Delhi, a meeting the White House had not announced, and during which the two leaders discussed stability.
