President Joe Biden has said there’s nothing he can do to stop the construction of the US-Mexico border wall.
The border wall was one of President Donald Trump’s major policy objectives when he was in office.
An uptick in the number of people attempting to cross the border has increased scrutiny of border control policies in recent days.
US officials, including Anthony Blinken, met their Mexican counterparts yesterday and declared they would resume the deportation of Venezuelan migrants.
This came in response to an ever larger number of Venezuelans attempting to cross into Mexico with the aim of reaching the United States.
Along the migrant route, a dense and lawless jungle in Panama was once considered almost impenetrable.
Now it’s thought 500,000 migrants will pass through the Darien jungle this year, double last year’s record.
