The Maldives has canceled the water survey agreement with India, according to The Press.
The pact was signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Maldives in 2019.
The agreement called for cooperation in the field of hydrology between the Indian Navy and the Maldives National Defence Force.
The fresh move came barely a month after pro-China Maldivian President Mohammad Muizzu asked the Indian government to withdraw its troops from the archipelago.
