The Centre has issued a crucial advisory to all states following the detection of the JN.1 variant in a 79-year-old woman from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
This comes hot on the heels of a recent case in Singapore involving a traveller from Tamil Nadu's Tiruchirapalli district who was also found to be carrying the JN.1 sub-variant.
