Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan are escalating as a senior Taliban official in Kabul revealed alarming statistics regarding the fate of Pakistani nationals in the conflict-torn region.
The official, Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, who serves as the Taliban's appointed defense minister and second deputy leader, claimed that more than 20 Pakistani nationals were killed in security force operations between January and December of the previous year.
Additionally, Mujahid stated that scores of Tajik nationals and hundreds of Pakistanis were arrested for their alleged involvement in attacks against religious clerics, the public, and mosques during the same period.
