Health Secretary Victoria Atkins says she wants to find for a "fair and reasonable settlement" with junior doctors who are holding their latest round of strikes today over a disagreement with the government over pay.
The six-day strike runs from today until 9 January - the longest in the history of the NHS.
"We know that they have a very real impact for people, including the 88,000 appointments that were cancelled in the last three days of industrial action just before Christmas," Ms Atkins said.
