Soldiers and civilians in South Korea board a ferry heading to Yeonpyeong island, where residents were ordered on Friday to evacuate to, after North Korea carried out artillery training near the Northern Limit Line (NLL).
Yeonpyeong, with about 2,000 residents, is around 115 kilometres (70 miles) west of Seoul.
