Sometimes folks are curious or outright confounded by all the pork and freedom killing legislation that seems so easily passed.
There are 2 obvious ways to achieve this within a governing body.
Pork and tyranny are usually buried in bills that are thousands of pages long but can also be found in Christmas tree (omnibus) bills that are passed quickly without vetting, reading or even committee attention.
That's how the US government does it and that's how it happens in state government too.
Let's talk about the latest Missouri omnibus bill (passed in 2022) that was struck down by the court in Missouri.
Then let's talk about 2023's HR11 (the Plocher rules).
Let's see if we can put the puzzle together in a way that helps people see that some in the general assembly are for tyranny and larger, bloated government with fascistic overtones.
