On Saturday, U.S. Central Command forces carried out strikes on a Houthi anti-ship missile intended for launch into the Gulf of Aden, as reported by the U.S. military.
This operation came in the wake of a series of earlier strikes where the United States targeted three additional Houthi anti-ship missiles.
The U.S. Central Command stated, "U.S. forces identified the missile as a threat to merchant vessels and U.S. Navy ships in the region, leading to the decision to strike and neutralise the missile in self-defence." The incident, the latest amid growing tensions, took place around 0400 Yemen time (0100 GMT), the U.S. Central Command added.
