A serving Met officer has been found guilty of assaulting a man who reported a crime.
PC Jonathan Marsh was convicted on Monday at City of London Magistrates’ Court.
PC Marsh and colleagues were called to a report of criminal damage in Romford in November 2022.
However, Marsh mistook the complainant, Rasike Attanayake, for the suspect.
As Marsh placed handcuffs on Mr Attanayake, he forced him to the ground and punched him in the head.
Report by Jonesia.
