A magnitude 5.7 earthquake rattled the Big Island of Hawaii, centred on the world's largest active volcano, Mauna Loa.
The quake, initially reported by the U.S. Geological Survey as magnitude 6.3, struck Mauna Loa's southern flank at a depth of 23 miles, 1.3 miles southwest of Pahala.
Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of serious damage.
