New aerodynamic features including a carbon fiber rear wing, air-specific baffles and front-end dive planes produce downforce that generates grip to help the car stay firmer and drive faster in the corners.
The ZL1 1LE is equipped with DSSV (Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve) multi-modal shock absorbers derived from the front and rear races for exceptional control of the wheel and vehicle.
The front driving height is adjustable with the front shock absorbers, which are used with new adjustable camber plates.
The rear stabilizer bar also offers three-way adjustability.
All components are designed for rapid changes on the track for optimal performance and a quick return to road settings when the track day ends.
The new lightweight forged aluminum wheels are wider than an inch but a smaller diameter in diameter, front and rear, than standard ZL1 wheels and are used with the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires that offer a maximum side grip of 1 , 10 g.
Developed exclusively for the Camaro ZL1 1LE, 3R tires are designed to warm up faster to maintain more consistent grip and speed, lap by lap.
The overall size increases by about 10 percent compared to the ZL1, but the wheel-tire package weighs around 1.5 pounds (3.3kg) less per corner.
