Glenn Greenwald, the American journalist, author, and former lawyer, has taken up residence in Brazil.
He met his husband, David Miranda, on Ipanema Beach in Rio in 2005, and they moved in together just five days after their first encounter.
Greenwald is known for his reporting on American and British global surveillance programs based on highly classified documents provided by Edward Snowden.
His work contributed to The Guardian’s 2014 Pulitzer Prize win, and he was named one of the top 100 Global Thinkers of 2013 by Foreign Policy.
