Hamas has accepted a ceasefire proposal from Egypt and Qatar.
At the same time, Israel continues its bombing campaign in eastern Rafah despite not accepting the ceasefire terms. Reports indicate that around 100,000 Palestinians in Rafah have been asked to evacuate.
Ismail Haniyeh, representing Hamas, informed Qatari and Egyptian officials of the group's approval of the ceasefire.
However, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu's office stated that the proposed deal falls short of Israel's demands but will still send a delegation for negotiations.
