The fourth edition of the Coppa delle Alpi by 1000 Miglia is underway: this afternoon, in Trieste, the technical and sporting checks will take place in Piazza Unità d'Italia, from where the regularity race for cars built up until 1990 will start tomorrow morning which includes 90 Timed Trials for over 1,600 km.
The 5-stage Grand Tour will cross the entire Alpine arc from East to West, from Trieste to Courmayeur, crossing the borders of 7 nations: 1000 Miglia presents The Great Alpine Journey, a path of reflection parallel to the race aimed at representing the socio-economic transformations , anthropological and environmental aspects that cross the Alpine macroregion.
To make the competitors an active part of the project, the number of cars competing has been limited to 30, flanked by a further 8 cars which will host reference experts on the macro-themes addressed.
During stops along the route, the experts will meet local institutions and examples of Best Practice, encouraging exchanges and sharing experiences.
The sum of these contributions collected over the 5 days will be presented in a final conference, scheduled for Saturday 4 May in Courmayeur.
