President Biden spoke about the PACT Act, a law that aids veterans affected by toxic exposure during service.
The Act presumes certain illnesses and cancers are linked to this exposure, eliminating the need for veterans to prove it.
Since its enactment in August 2022, over 1 million claims have been approved, benefiting about 888,000 veterans and survivors across all states, totaling around $5.7 billion.
Biden, who attributes his son Beau’s brain cancer to burn pits, has been a strong advocate for the Act.
He delivered these remarks in New Hampshire and announced the approval of 1 million PACT Act claims.
