On May 13, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal recounted being assaulted at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence by his personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar.
She reported being slapped, dragged, and hitting her head on a table, while her cries for help went unanswered.
Despite Kejriwal being at home during the incident, no one intervened.
Kumar has since been arrested and is in police custody.
The assault has ignited a political controversy, with the BJP criticising Kejriwal and the AAP's stance on women's safety.
The AAP countered by accusing the BJP of protecting individuals like MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and alleging that Maliwal is acting on behalf of the ruling party at the Centre.
