Billie Eilish’s brother and producer, Finneas, recently criticized Pitchfork for their 6.8/10 review of Eilish's album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft.’ Pitchfork’s review, published on May 21st, described the album as "good" but not a masterpiece, despite its tasteful and sometimes arresting qualities.
Contrary to the review, the album has been a commercial success, topping charts in 16 countries and debuting at #2 on the Billboard 200.
Finneas expressed his frustration on TikTok, suggesting that Pitchfork aims to have a controversial angle, referencing their low score for Lana Del Rey's ‘Born To Die.’ Fans largely supported Finneas, dismissing the importance of critics' opinions and emphasizing personal enjoyment of music regardless of reviews.
