Princess Anne paid a visit to Bayeux War Cemetery before meeting with veterans to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Princess unveiled a statue of a Second World War Canadian Royal Regina Rifleman.
The Princess has been Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment since 1982.
