The year is 1947 in the days after WWII.
A kamikaze pilot docks at a maintenance base, masking the secret of abandoning his post for fear of death.
He may have escaped the war but calamity isn't finished with him as that night the base is attacked by a terrible dinosaur creature.
Once again on the run and fleeing for his life, he returns home to witness the ravages that the Great War has wrought upon his home in Japan.
Attempting to eke out a life taking on a well-paying but dangerous job, he is tasked with minesweeping the coastal waters of naval explosives left over from the war.
It is here that not only does he again encounter his old friend who attacked the maintenance base, but his attempts to quell this threat backfire, showing just how unstoppable Godzilla truly is.
Terror only escalate from here as this atomic monster makes his way to mainland Japan and wreaks havoc upon city and civilian alike.
With the government refusing to lend assistance, it is up to the citizens and ex military to devise a way to extinguish the menace of this unstoppable force of nature.
For the citizens, this is about protecting their home, for the kamikaze pilot it's about his last shot at redemption.
