As an attorney I've heard a lot of crazy ideas put forth as reasonable but the Supreme Court immunity ruling for Trump being a license to kill has to be at the top of the list.
The ruling gives immunity for official acts period.
In no way could a President claim that assassinating a political opponent is an official act.
No court on the planet would allow that and the right to review whether an act is official or not was never disputed.
