The controversy began in 2020 when he was permanently banned from Twitch, with the reason for the ban remaining unknown until recently.
According to a former Twitch employee, Dr. Disrespect was banned for sending inappropriate private messages to a minor using Twitch’s Whisper feature in 2017.
The employee, Cody Conners, made the allegations on social media, stating that the streamer was caught “sexting a minor in the then-existing Twitch whispers product.” Twitch has not publicly commented on the allegations or the ban, but it is known that the two parties reached a settlement in 2022, with Dr. Disrespect stating that he has no intention of returning to the platform.
