Jaundice is clinical liver malfunctioning caused by temper ducts blockage which liberates bile juices, salts & bilirubin pigment into intestine leads to yellow skin pigmentation, conjunctival membranes over sclerae & other mucous membranes.
Blood plasma’s bilirubin concentration normally below 1.2 mg/dL but higher than 2.5 leads problem.
It’s not liver disease like hepatitis-b or cancer, indicates biliary tract obstruction & underlying disease process.
