Leading House Democrat Adam Smith called on Joe Biden to end presidential bid.
Smith, on July 8, said voters thought Biden was too old to be an effective candidate.
The Democrat leader also cited Biden's failure in a debate with Donald Trump in June.
In a separate statement, Smith opined that Kamala Harris would be a stronger candidate.
