Men's Olympic triathlon postponed due to continuous high pollution levels in the Seine.

Following longstanding concern over water quality in the River Seine, and despite reassurance from Paris city officials, the men's Olympic triathlon has officially been postponed.

The decision was made by the International Olympic Committee along with World Triathlon and its health officials, following water tests taken early morning Tuesday that did not provide guarantees that it would be safe for swimming.

The event was set to take place at 8 am local time Tuesday, but has now been moved to Wednesday, following the women's triathlon event.
