Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has condemned the riots in Southport, describing the scenes as a "total disgrace." The unrest came after a peaceful vigil in the town on Tuesday evening which saw hundreds pay tribute to the victims of the tragedy.
"This is a time when everyone should be showing respect and support for the community and the police," she said.
