Labour has responded to Jeremy Hunt's accusations of "political intervention" by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
The former chancellor accused the OBR of shielding the Labour Party from scrutiny as it prepares to announce tax hikes.
Labour's Pat McFadden described the complaint as "absolutely ludicrous".
"What you're seeing there is the sight of Tories being terrified of the independent verdict and the absolute mess that this government inherited", he added.
