The 77-year-old musician revealed a shocking new health update at a gala performance of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical in London on Sunday.
While speaking on stage following the show's curtain call, thanking the producers, writers, cast, and crew, John revealed the severity of his condition saying 'I haven't been able to come to many of the previews because I've you know, I've lost my eyesight so it's hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it, and boy, it sounded good tonight.'
The update comes just a few months after he first spoke publicly on the infection back in September.

The caption revealed the official date of the proposal, which took place on November 22.

Brickman was best known for his work alongside Woody Allen on films such as 1973's Sleeper , 1979's Manhattan , and 1993's Manhattan Murder Mystery .
The duo also worked together on the Academy Award-winner Annie Hall , which made its debut in 1977.
The two took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film.
Throughout his career, Brickman also worked as the head writer for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson , wrote for other shows such as The Dick Cavett Show and The Muppet Show , and served as a playwright for the Broadway musical Jersey Boys .
He passed away on Friday in Manhattan as confirmed by his daughter Sophie Brickman.
A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

The actor, who was known for his role as Roman Brady on the hit soap opera Days of Our Lives passed away on Friday after a 6-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Along with his work on Days , Northrop made a variety of other screen appearances, including on 1981's Dynasty , the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles , and The Waltons .
