National day of mourning, in honor of 39th President Jimmy Carter, is observed in the U.S. A National day of mourning is underway in the U.S. as we remember and honor the life and legacy of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter.

President Carter's funeral took place this morning at Washington National Cathedral in Washington D.C.

With all surviving former Presidents, as well as current President Joe Biden, in attendance.

Funeral proceedings will continue throughout the day as the former President's body is transported to his hometown of Plains, Georgia where he will be laid to rest.

Billy Crystal and wife Janice also spoke publicly about losing their home, expressing their devastation to media outlets such as CNN and PEOPLE.

Actress Mandy Moore shared footage of her hometown Altadena after it had been consumed by flames, the devastation on full display as she wrote 'My children's school is gone.

Adam Brody and wife Leighton Meester, as well as Miles Teller and wife Keleigh Sperry have both reportedly lost their homes, however the couples have yet to speak publicly on their personal impact.

Other celebs who have lost their homes include John Goodman, James Woods, Anthony Hopkins, Anna Faris, Sandra Lee, Eugene Levy, Ricki Lake, Heidi Montag, and Spencer Pratt.
