No survivors expected after commercial plane collides with military helicopter mid-air in Washington, D.C.
The crash occurred in the late hours of Wednesday night just outside of Reagan Washington National Airport when a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines commercial plane before plummeting into the Potomac River.
When the incident occurred, three soldiers were aboard the helicopter, while the plane carried more than 60 passengers.
Rescue efforts have since turned into recovery efforts, as it is believed that there are no survivors.
While passenger identities have yet to be revealed, U.S. Figure Skating has confirmed that amongst the victims were figure skaters, coaches, and family members who attended a developmental camp following the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which took place in the flight's origin city of Wichita, Kansas just last week.

The 63-year-old radio personality reportedly suffered the stroke on January 6 after previous struggles with his health.
His daughter Jessica has since filed for conservatorship, stating that he has been left 'incompetent to make decisions' over his health and financial assets.
According to a source contacted by Variety , Pinefield remains hospitalized due to his condition.
