Another Setback for Zelensky After Trump’s Aid Block?
Hungary has blocked a €30 billion EU military aid package for Ukraine at an emergency European Council meeting in Brussels, despite strong backing from the other 26 member states.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban vetoed the proposal, arguing it promotes further fighting instead of peace.
The decision delays much-needed assistance to Kyiv, with the final ruling now pushed to the next EU leaders' summit on March 20.
Meanwhile, EU leaders, including European Council President Antonio Costa and foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, are exploring ways to bypass Hungary’s veto.
The deadlock comes as reports indicate that former U.S. President Donald Trump has frozen new military aid to Ukraine, urging the EU to take greater responsibility.
