U.S Revokes South Sudan Visas | Rubio Slams Juba for Blocking Deportee Returns | Details

The U.S. has revoked all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders and halted future issuances, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Saturday.

The decision follows Juba’s alleged refusal to accept deported nationals.

The State Department criticized South Sudan’s transitional government for “taking advantage” of U.S. leniency.

The move comes amid worsening instability in South Sudan, which faces mass displacement and food crises.

The Biden administration says visa restrictions will remain until full cooperation is ensured.

South Sudan’s Foreign Ministry and the UN have not responded to requests for comment.
