A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to reverse drastic cuts to Voice of America, ruling the job freezes and funding blocks violated U.S. law and the Constitution.
Over 1,300 VOA employees, including nearly 1,000 journalists, were affected.
The White House accused VOA of being “anti-Trump,” prompting the crackdown.
Judge Royce Lamberth called the damage "irreparable" and cited violations of the International Broadcasting Act.
The ruling extends to Radio Free Asia and other networks.
Trump is expected to appeal as media watchdogs call this a victory for press freedom.
